Wandalf the Gizzard 2485
Hey, buddy! Do you love cohesive decks with a single-minded strategy and streamlined contents? If so, this deck is not for you! This bloated monster is one of the two solo decks I've had success with Against Shadow and Flame. It's really a smash-up between these two decks: http://ringsdb.com/deck/view/119146, http://ringsdb.com/deck/view/119141.
Basically, you soak the Balrog's attacks with Frodo, while playing . . . the cards in your deck. Yeah. Anyway, there's really nothing in particular to look for in your opening hand, although Elrond's Counsel, readying for Elrond, resource generation, or Gandalf are all nice to have. But seriously, just play what you get. Eventually you'll have enough attack to take down the Balrog.
Here are a couple play tips:
Be careful, because in testing I ran out of cards a couple times and couldn't activate Dark Pit.
Use Gandalf for card draw. He's pretty much the only way you'll get it, other than the deck-thinners; which don't really count.
Put your first Resourceful, first Unexpected Courage, and Steward on Elrond. The second Resourceful goes on Aragorn, to fuel his ability. And if Frodo doesn't have a Fast Hitch, yet, he gets the second UC.
Other than that, just play to what the encounter deck spits at you, and amass your diverse little army.
I encourage you to try it out, you might have fun! Or you could just wisely shake your head at the lunacy of the whole idea.
