Description
This fellowship has explored some of the Nightmares of the Mirkwood Cycle. It is not combat-focused, so I tweaked it a bit to take on Return to Mirkwood. I have played it 2/2 this far. Once with only Frodo straggling on in one of the hands, but still a win.
Gollum prevents much of the Secrecy tech I have been relying on in previous quests, so the Hobbits' threat is more spent like a resource. The elven deck can really gear up will power, so my strategy is to blitz each quest stage. Enemies can be dealt with in different ways. Frodo defending and using his ability, Hobbit-sense, Ride them Down (perfect for Attercops), Galadriel boosting defense or offense through Against the shadow or Fair and Perilous. Map of EƤrnil can reuse both according to need.
Good Meal can be played on Pippin to play Out of the Wild for 1 resource, even when out of Secrecy. I start off with Gollum with the elves if I draw the 4 damage treachery, then I try to stick him with the hobbits for as long as possible, piling threat until he is handed over to the elves for the sprint.
Map of Earnil is an Action and can't be used on Response events like A Test of Will.
You can use a Dwarven Tomb to get a test of will back in your and (the dwarven tomb beeing a valid target for map of Earnil).
