The Path Less Traveled Saga Campaign: Fog on the Barrow Down
Inkling 70
Description
I have decided to start a variant on the Saga Campaign. Personally, I felt the strict hero requirements for the majority of the official saga campaign to be more frustrating than fun. My main goal is to balance theme with overall fun for playing each of the quests in the saga all while using as many new cards and archetypes as possible.
2p fellowships will be set up so that one main deck is more strict to the theme of the quest and the other deck is more for support in which it creatively follows theme to some extent but also focuses on trying out new cards and archetypes.
The main deck continues to be the typical, and thematic, trisphere hobbit deck.
For the support deck I decided to try a three hunters deck. It helps with the ally hate on the ancient barrow location and 3rd quest card. I can imagine Grimbeorn running into a couple scouts and they happen to later find the hobbits in the barrow downs (pretty weak theme here).
This was a really tough quest for me. The treacheries are brutal! I still really wanted to avoid spirit and test of will, so I threw in some victory display cards to manipulate some of the treacheries.
The location that makes you use willpower for defense usually whiffed because grimbeorn often had 3-4 willpower from the three hunters restricted attachment bonus (except when I placed the 0 willpower condition on him thinking it wouldn't matter!).
Overall not a high win ratio with this deck but it was fun.
Ready to get back to the main saga quests. I'm thinking scorpagorn grey wanderer deck with the hobbits!
