The Path Less Traveled Saga Campaign: A Knife in the Dark

Inkling 70

Description

I have decided to start a variant on the Saga Campaign. Personally, I felt the strict hero requirements for the majority of the official saga campaign to be more frustrating than fun. My main goal is to balance theme with overall fun for playing each of the quests in the saga all while using as many new cards and archetypes as possible.

2p fellowships will be set up so that one main deck is more strict to the theme of the quest and the other deck is more for support in which it creatively follows theme to some extent but also focuses on trying out new cards and archetypes.

The main deck continues to be the typical, and thematic, trisphere hobbit deck. I simply added Elrond to the hobbits deck for the condition removal (the condition that makes willpower, attack and defense 0 is peril so if it falls on Aragorn when he isn't first player it can end the game!).

The second deck is voltron Aragorn/Scorpagorn Grey Wanderer deck! With the mounts and war axe and a couple marks he's swinging for 8 (9 with the minus 1 defense from scorpagorn) and readying and engaging from staging area or across the board to do it again! With the two allies in this deck easily getting you the mounts and signal cards plus heed the dream to get the war axe and golden belt, you can be up and running really fast. This deck is really fun. I initially considered dunedain cache to make him ranged and combo with merry and readying but it wasn't necessary.

Pretty regularly and easily beats this quest. Not the strongest in willpower, but usually isn't needed unless you get a string of locations.
