A Path Less Travelled: The Tower of Cirith Ungol

Inkling 70

Description

I have decided to start a variant on the Saga Campaign. Personally, I felt the strict hero requirements for the majority of the official saga campaign to be more frustrating than fun. My main goal is to balance theme with overall fun for playing each of the quests in the saga all while using as many new cards and archetypes as possible.

The Sam deck was heavily influenced by the Razumikhin deck Samwise Inspired (Mount Doom and Cirith Ungol). I made some minor changes to further boost Amarthiul with Arwen. Ideally the enemies engaged with this deck are defended by a Guardian of Arnor which frees up the Sam and Rosie combo to attack and kill the enemy.

Fairly standard dunedain deck with Gildor and sneak attack Gandalf's used for card draw and/or threat reduction, whichever is more needed. Dunedain decks really hurt on card draw. They need an event that does for card draw what knowledge of the enemy does for resource acceleration. Maybe AleP can make an event that has you draw a card for each enemy engaged with you?

I thought Dunedain would work well for this quest that has so many enemies but it can struggle quite a bit still. Still haven't figured out how and when it's best to use Dunedain engagement archetype.
