The Treachery of Rhudaur - Good win rate

Description

This is a fun scenario, pretty easy to win, and the games last a while.

We played this scenario maybe 20 times, and these decks beat it probably 90% of the time. You can still lose if you get really terrible luck with certain combos, but in general, these decks win easily.

Player 1 is Lore and Spirit; player 2 is Tactics.

Player 1 does nothing but quest and put useful cards in play. Player 2 does all the defending. Make the active quest the one where the enemies automatically go to the player with the higher threat, and that pretty much guarantees that all enemies go to player 2. Amarthuil should always go to Player 2 whenever possible.

For player 1, mulligan for Unexpected Courage, Song of Wisdom, or Light of Valinor in that order. Song of Wisdom is important to put on Glorfindel first, because then you can buy Lore cards that cost 2 resources each round. Erestor lets you draw 4 cards total, but you have to discard them all at the end of the round. So player 1 will usually draw most of his deck during the course of the game.

First Song of Wisdom goes on Glorfindel, next one goes on Beregond, so that Burning Brand can be played on him. First 2 Unexpected Courages go on Beregond, and even the 3rd one can go on him if you want, or maybe Legolas. The goal is to make Beregond an unstoppable sentinel defender.

Long Defeat is useful for healing purposes, until/unless you can get Warden of Healing in play. Silver Harp should be used for Test of Will. If you draw Test of Will and have to throw it away at the end of the round, Silver Harp lets you get it back for the next round. So basically, you can keep Test of Will until you use it.

Player 2 mulligans for Gondorian Shield. Also important are Rohan Warhorse, Raven Winged Helm, Honour Guard, and Support of the Eagles.

We usually ended up questing between 12-15 almost every round, from the start to the end of the game. So it's little weird how player 1 ends up with virtually no allies in play, but you can still quest all your heroes, plus throw cards away to increase questing even more.

Player 1's threat will stay low due to usually playing all 3 Elrond's Counsel over the course of the game. Player 2 may need to use the threat lowering side quest or Gandalf, to keep their threat from getting too high.
