Managed to defeat the scenario with this fellowship today, but not without losing Bilbo and Thalin. Final score was 100 points, so there is room for improvement. Getting sent back to step 2B is painful! Nice decks, not sure if they can be improved much with the limited card pool.

Yes, the decks are mostly dependent on the Hunters from Mordor not showing up. I mainly have Thalin here so I can easily choose the Eastern Crows to reveal from stage one and two's forced effects and so the other heroes can quest without worrying about enemies, but he could be subbed out for another hero with no consequence.

But Thalin wouldn't help with Eastern Crows being revealed through the Stage 2 forced effect, right? It says "at the beginning of the quest phase...", so then Thalin isn't committed yet.

That is correct, so Thalin only works on the crows when they're revealed by stage 1B or in staging, further trivializing him.
