15 - Foundations of Stone (Progression Series)

Description

This is another fellowship continuing on in my goal to play through all of the quests in release order to learn how all (or most) of the cards interact with one another. The first fellowship for the quests in the core set can be found here, and it contains a slightly more detailed overview of what I'm going for with building these decks. As always, any feedback is appreciated so that I can continue to learn more!

Foundations of Stone is one of three packs that I still don't actually own for the game, so I was incredibly excited to try out Glorfindel and all of his toys right away. So the first deck is all about him, basically. I have plenty of readying for all three characters, as well as ways to pump up willpower and then eventually reset threat once Stage 4 happens to avoid some of the Nameless Things. There aren't a lot of ways to deal with combat in this deck, so the Forest Snares are there to keep things from being too bad once we get separated from the combat deck. There are plenty of chump blockers to feed to Imrahil if need be as well.

The Twins deck is again pretty standard fair, hopefully getting Support of the Eagles out onto one (or both) with some of the cheaper Eagle allies to make for some insane readying. Elrohir should get Steward and Song of Battle and from there it was smooth sailing with Arwen making him a Sentinel. This deck really struggles questing, so Gandalf should be used to help with that in Stage 4, or just tread water a little bit until the other deck blows through its area and can join up.
