So, dwarves are still awesome. And they look better in purple. It's a law of nature. This deck works like any other Dwarf deck, except it abuses the shite out of the ol' Tome of Atanatar + We Are Not Idle and Lure of Moria. The Hammersmith, as he does, helps to recur the Tome, and keep the engine rolling. Also, get Narvi's belt down. It's important.

Sadly most of the allies don't work well with the events since their effect triggers on play and not enter play.

@oberfredIt's less of a detriment than it may seem. Most of the time, just having the bodies on the board helps to keep the engine churning, and if one of them pops off their special ability, it's just gravy. Gandalfs, Battle Masters, and Hammersmiths are the preferred targets, the latter to recur the Tome. I went reinforcements over Sneak Attack because it also adds more flexibility in multiplayer.

@AtaruSlash I agree that it is beneficial to have many dwarfs in play itself. But especially the Hammersmiths don't work with Reinforcements, or Sneak Attack as well.

@oberfredOMG you're right, I misread the Smiths. I still have gotten enough use out of it with Gandalfs, Smiths, and Very Good Tale to warrant keeping it in, but I'll probably drop one for something else.

Tried this deck in The Land of Shadow and almost made it past scenario 1. The problem became healing (down two Heroes), although I would have threated out in another turn. Any suggestions in keeping with the theme? Also, I'm thinking of adding King Under the Mountain for card draw to speed things up.

@dragonwarriorfanUnfortunately healing is one place that the Dwarf trait really comes up short. It'd be pretty easy to slot in a couple Warden of Healings to help out there, or if you truly wanted to keep the trait theme unified, possibly a couple of Self Preservations? One other thing I probably should have added to the description is the use of Gandalf. He should almost always be drawing you cards. Possibly lowering threat, if that's becoming a concern. It took me a loooong time to become disciplined enough to not just always bomb enemies, tempting as it may be. Not sure if this was an obstacle you encountered, but something I definitely wanted to mention. Changed the game for me.

Thanks - yeah Gandalf could be key in this. Like I said, it may be that the game took too long, so King Under the Mountain may help get him out (I didn't see him last time) and speed me past needing healing from the slow damage those Mire effects did. I didn't think about Self Preservation, I'd assumed Narvi's belt was just to pay for dwarf trait cards. That opens up some other options...Thanks!
