bobbymcbobface has a newer deck inspired by this one: COTR 1 - Dreadnaught

This is a deck I built specifically for The Hunt for the Dreadnaught, based on the ship Eithiliant. The Basic side of this ship reads:

5 3 3 13

Grey Havens. Ship. Basic.
Immune to player card effects. Sentinel.

Each hero you control gets +1

Setup: Choose a hero you control. Until the end of the game, that hero gains the printed Traits of another hero you control.

The Upgraded side reads:

6 4 4 15

Grey Havens. Ship. Upgraded.
Immune to player card effects. Sentinel.

Each hero you control gets +2

Response: After Eithiliant flips, shuffle up to 6 cards from your discard pile into your deck. Place 6 progress on a location in any group.

Gameplay

Now, I am choosing Prince Imrahil to receive the Creature and Eagle traits from Gwaihir. This means that he can pull any Eagle or Creature ally into play with his ability, and if an Eagle enters play, it will also ready Gwaihir. A Perilous Voyage isn't necessary, but I thought it would be fun to try out the new contract as well. From the first round, Éowyn can quest for 5, and Gwaihir for 3, not even including the Eithiliant's . Thorongil, Helm of Secrecy, or any ally can be pulled when the contract flips. Helm of Secrecy can be used to turn Gwaihir into anyone else if the momentum of the eagle army entering and leaving play slows down.

If and when Eithiliant flips, you can shuffle more eagles, Rohan allies that got discarded, or whatever else you need back into your deck. And 6 progress on any location in any group could also potentially help someone else flip a ship as well, or just clear a nasty loaction.

Overall, I think this has the potential to be a very good deck. When my copy of Dreadnaught arrives in about a week, I will edit this description with a play report at all three difficulty levels. Keep in mind I do not actually own The Land of Sorrow, so no Eagle Emissary. I have a wood Gwaihir courtesy of Durins_Father! Any suggestions or comments would be welcome!

I had the same idea, I am also still waiting for my copy to arrive. I wonder if those new Ships will be limited to that quest or would also be available in all Sailing quests.

@Alonewolf87 @bobbymcbobface

U are lucky to have Dreadnaught, or have it coming and @bobbymcbobface I am proud that you do not use cards you do not own. I have only two decks published using cards I dont own, but that is combining my collection with my other family membr's collections.

@Alonewolf87 I doubt they will be able to be used in other scenarios, especially since the hunt for the dreadnaught doesn’t actually have the sailing keyword
