I don't know that this deck is so great, but a lot of people (certainly including me) have a lot of trouble with The Battle of Carn Dum, so I thought I'd put up the decks I finally beat it with in 2-handed solo. (The key pseudo-mono- deck is here: http://ringsdb.com/deck/view/19)
With Carn Dum's high threat enemies, several of which are in the staging area from the very start, this is one of the quests where Lore Faramir can really shine. Elrond is there to pump out Ents (Steward of Gondor is for him), and Mirlonde is almost forced into place to keep the starting threat quasi-reasonable.
I am usually very stingy with my shadow cancellation, but Carn Dum piles on the shadow effects so high that 3x A Burning Brand on Elrond seems almost required. (Arwen Undómiel from the other deck grants Elrond sentinel.)
