Use Well-Equipped and Imladris Stargazer to get the Dwarves some hitpoint attachments really quickly, then let Gloin with Narvi's Belt take care of your resources and Gléowine take care of your card draw. Once set up, you should never have to defend an attack. If playing multiplayer, finding room in the deck for Song of Mocking can be very helpful.
