Wandalf the Gizzard 2415

There are lots ofdecks out there that spew out ridiculous amounts of Dwarf allies with astronomical card draw and resource generation, but there are othe perfectly viable builds for Dwarf themed decks. This one focuses on its heroes to take care of business during the quest phase and the combat phase.

The best mulligan target is probably Unexpected Courage or Imladris Stargazer, but don’t stress yourself over it. Any hand with weapons, armor, or cheap allies is good.

All of your heroes are capable questers, but should be leaning mainly on your allies for that. Your heroes, suited up with weapons, armor, and UC; will take care of combat. I like to give Nori a Ring Mail, Oin an Axe, and Gimli Unexpected Courage, Ring Mail, and an Axe.

The pure high stat count of your heroes and allies should be able to carry you to victory. Erebor Battlemaster can really bring it late, Gandalf is always good, and your Mathoms and Stargazers should keep you from hitting a sandbar.

As for the sideboard, Goblin Cleaver is there for quests with puny enemies, Thror’s Key for any quests with bomb locations, EMHR for underground quests, Bofur if you feel like you aren’t finding weapons reliable enough, and the other Bofur just in case you feel like it.

That’s about all there is to it. I was surprised how fun it was just romping and stomping around Middle-earth with a few big, strong Dwarves. I hope you enjoy, and thanks for reading!

With some small tweaks to the ally lineup and leaning a bit more into mining (Hidden Cache, Ered Luin Miner, Dwarf Pipe), it could be interesting to run Lay of the Nauglamír to get the Imladris Stargazer + Zigil Miner combo set up very fast.

How do the heroes have such great stats? Gimli is great, but Óin and Nori are fairly weak. In addition, they both synergize with dwarf swarm, the opposite of the idea. Regardless, I like the idea and some of the deck!
