Play Sam Gamgee for one resource and then Bill the Pony for free. Exhaust both for a copy of A Very Good Tale and bring out one or two allies. Heed the Dream helps to bring out this combination in your first round. Your goal is to have nine characters out as fast as possible, to flip the contract. To reach this, you‘ve got plenty of card draw options and Drinking Song to get allies back into your deck from your hand, to use A Very Good Tale another time.
If too many useful cards were discarded this way, play Will of the West (or Dwarven Tomb to get it) to shuffle your deck and discard pile together.
Gandalf will raise your threat fast, so attach Thorongil to Aragorn and pick his lore version, to reduce your threat when it gets too high.
Sacrifice Folco (and reduce your threat) and Bill the Pony (as a chump blocker), if you want to play with the original nine characters from ˋThe Fellowship of the Ring´. Otherwise, two characters must stay out of play at any time.
