This deck was inspired by Over Hill and Under Hill solo as put forth by Wandalf the Gizzard. I made some adjustments as I don't have some of the scenario decks in the Dwarrowdelf cycle.
I tried to keep this thematic, but since the Hobbit party visited Rivendell, I felt that adding a few cards in that vain for healing and threat management would go a long way to consistently surviving the perils of Middle Earth! I did add two copies of Steward of Gondor for extra buying power but I don't feel great about doing it and will probably ending up sideboarding them. Maybe I'll keep them in just for the trolls...
Changes from Wandalf's Deck
[The Galadhrim's Greeting](/card/01046) was my first choice for keeping the starting threat of 31 under control. [Lore of Imladris](/card/01063) was my healing choice to keep Thorin and Dain alive as my attack absorption targets. 2x [Unexpected Courage](/card/01057) - love this on Dain, readying him after he defends a large attack so he can swing in. 1x [Gandalf](/card/131010) - I like splashing a copy of this version of Gandalf in all my decks since you can keep him around if you don't mind paying in threat. [Bifur](/card/132007) - I prefer Bifur to Nori for the extra card draw. x2 [Song of Travel](/card/02081) - I threw two copies of this in to ensure I was able to splash into .Early Results
1. Ere Away - beat this my first time through. I got lucky getting a copy of [Erebor Record Keeper](/card/03011) down the first round (without a mulligan) and I was able to turtle for the first 6 rounds of the scenario until I had 10 dwarves ready to take on some trolls. From there a [Sneak Attack](/card/01023) with [Gandalf](/card/01073) and a [The Galadhrim's Greeting](/card/01046) to keep the threat down until I wanted to engage the last troll was the key to this victory.
2. Misty Mountains Grim - I lost my first time through in 3 rounds! My first three encounter deck draws were 2x storm giants and 1x boulder, so my large negative questing pushed me over 40 early and I never got on level footing. I am going to retry this again as having three giants in the staging area is about as unlucky as I've ever been.
