UPDATE: Special thanks to @doomguard for the great card suggestions, which eventually lead to version 2.0 of the deck! These changes are as follows:

  • +3 x Tome of Atanatar: The cool thing about the Tome is that if you use it on Brand, it can draw a total of three additional cards.
  • +2 x Strength of Arms
  • -1 x Sneak Attack
  • -1 x Gimli
  • -1 x Gloin

I've also added the Bulwark of the West to the Sideboard if you need to remove condition attachments.

I considered removing the two copies of the Boots from Erebor to reduce the deck to the standard 50 cards, but these boots are first of all free, and second, they actually can provide you with 2 additional resources every time you play Traffic from Dale! The Tome even gives you the chance to do that 6 times!

I couldn't sleep so what to do? Try to take all over the world? No, Pinky, it's time for our beloved card game!

I've been thinking for a while now how to create a thematic deck that describes the generally good relationship between Erebor and Dale. Well, here are my thoughts on the deck itself:

  • I need all the resources I can, but I was reluctant to include Steward of Gondor. For that purpose, my options are: Necklace of Girion, Gloin (though I'm not sure I'll trigger his ability), Traffic from Dale. I've put a couple copies of Boots of Erebor to increase my chance of gaining more resources from all the trafficking.

  • King Under the Mountain, Brand, and Gandalf can give card draw if needed, but if the tale of my deck is good enough I should be able to live without that much card draw, hopefully.

  • The Guardians of Esgaroth are probably the most important Dale characters in this deck, because they are quite cheap and can reach 4 willpower thanks to Brand, the helm, and the mail. The Knights of Dale mainly probably hope that "the narrator will tell a very good tale". The Sentries are generally good and can use both the helm and the mail for free, and can provide good defensive support.

  • Willpower shouldn't be an issue thanks to the general effects of Brand and Dain.

  • To me! O my kinsfolk! is a card I just want to play for fun. There should be enough dwarves in the discard pile anyway thanks to King Under the Mountain and A Very Good Tale.

  • A Very Good Tale, A Very Good Tale, A Very Good Tale...

In summary, let's hope that the future tale of this deck won't be as mediocre as I fear it could be. Fingers crossed!

I had a chance to try this out against Escape From Umbar tonight and it did quite well. The Dwarves had more synergy than Dale, however, Redwater Sentry held up in the defensive role quite well. It's not a power deck but it is a finesse one and I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks for sharing!
