It is a shame that Grima is mostly viable in solo play only as the combo with Aragorn opens up a lot of great options. It's a great fit with Outlands. Early game defense can be challenging and you have no cancellation, but questing and combat are no problem once you get some allies on the board. It shouldn't be hard to put down 2 or 3 each round.

Apr 27, 2016Burning brand on Aragorn, the sword on the Warden of Healing. There have been several games where I just didn't need the healing. Nonetheless, if I were to cut anything, the first would probably be that sword. |

Also, why not to run Faramir? He is extremely powerful. I have played 2 and never regretted the decision ;) Together with Sword that was Broken it can make some quests a walk in a park. |
May 02, 2016As I read that quote, I realize that my grasp of the English language must be lacking. Two separate thoughts: Grima is mostly for solo play. Second, he pairs very well with Loragorn. He fits with Merry and Galadriel as well, but the lore icon is super useful for the card draw. Peace and Thought is great, but I don't have a lot of action advantage and I need my heroes to keep me afloat early game. Also, Faramir is great, but by the time I can afford him, I don't need the extra willpower. That's just what I've found a several play throughs. I'd definitely sideboard him though. |
May 02, 2016Of course Grima has a lore icon as well, but Aragorn is helpful early on with attack or defense. |
May 03, 2016Galadriel includes the ability to draw cards too:) But as for defending, Aragorn really a bit is more effective than Grima, but it also depends on average enemies strength. |
Jul 16, 2016Wow, this deck can spit out the allies quickly. Chaining the doomed cards to get you resources and cards is pretty fun not to mention powerful. However, I made one small tweak. I didn't like the idea of Wingfoot in a single player game. So, I included Lorien's Wealth for some extra card draw. It really helped for those times I've stalled. Also, with Keys of Orthanc and Grima's ability I can play it for 1. |
Seems nice. Does Burning Brand attach to Grima or to Aragorn? And who are you going to attach the Sword of Morthond to? The only option is Warden of Healing... Or did I miss something?
