This solo deck was made with To Catch an Orc in mind, but it is well rounded enough to do good things elsewhere, too (I also had great success with Into Fangorn). It uses heroes which offer great action advantage, many low cost allies, and a fair few buffing abilities to get maximum utility out of them. The core of this deck is its resource fixing. Using great Gondor cards like Steward of Gondor, Herald of Anorien, Errand Rider, Envoy of Pelargir, and Squire of the Citadel, gaining and moving resources where they need to be is generally very easy. Those resources are then used to get down cards, or to stick around to take advantage of Blood of Numenor, which can turn Aragorn or Imrahil into a damn wall.
Sword that was Broken and Visionary Leadership are also stars here, turning your 1 or 2 cost allies into 2 or 3 willpower questers in addition to being chump blockers with which to ready Imrahil. Gandalf Mark II also features prominently here, as well as Saurman and the suite of current Doomed cards. With Gandalf, Light of Valinor, and Sword that was Broken on the table, you can quest for 9 willpower without exhausting a single character, and when the threat becomes too much to stomach, you just hit the reset button that is Aragorn, and start over.
After meeting with great success against To Catch an Orc, and thoroughly enjoying this deck, I came away from this expansion with a new outlook on the game and deck building for true solo runthroughs.
51st Cards:
Waters of Nimrodel
Power of Orthanc
Legacy of Numenor
A Burning Brand
Good deck, I beat Stone of Erech With it, 1/3 but its at least in that quest really important to get out som willpower bosts asap. Gandalf mark 2 was also helpfull.
