Nm Carn Dûm Rohan Challenge 1.0

That's pretty amazing if true, just hard to believe! Rohan is probably one of the weaker tribal traits in the game, and we all know Carn Dum is a beast and a half in normal, can't imagine what it must be like in NM. Not only that but I'm shocked that it would even be a sidequest deck!

Did you have to activate Ewoyn's ability to clear that 1st battle location? Are there are other tricks that I am missing? Might have to fire up OCTGN and give this a run.

carn dum in nightmare is less hard, then on normal. the density of sorcerycards is less.

solo with taktikeowyn theere are many possibilities to handle carn dum, because u will safly explore the 1. lokation. the additional "trick" in this case is, to use it with thurindir, what is a nice idea. most likely the 1. sidequest qill be explored in the 1. round (eowyn and thurindir alone quest for 12 if she used her special power). that gives a boost for the rest of the game. espcecially to willpower, that boost the use of the golden shield. in normal it would be a litle bit harder. but i think it will make a 2/2. what is still good. who get the golden shield? the one who get snowmane i think but its eowyn or theoden?

@MDuckworth83it is true ^^ yeah Doomguard is right, Carn Dûm Nm is easier than normal, but only very very slightly. Yes you trigger Eowyn first round to explore Rally the West since willpower is crucial if you want to build up Thurindir and if you want to do a quest push. Timing is key in the quest I have to say though especially with this deck. Be careful when to advance to 2b and always keep in mind which cards would destroy you at what time. Also, always watch your threat!

@doomguard Whoever gets Snowmane gets the shield, and that should be in my opinion Théoden because having his attack as a second option is always handy.

Ok, I definitely see the connection between Eowyn and Thurindir... that's really clever. You are leveraging the battle keyword (that normally causes you to start this quest on a bad foot) to your advantage to trigger Eowyn to "guarantee" quest through the location and a sidequest....which Thurindir guarantees you have in hand. That's some damned fine teching, i like it!

I guess the other side quests are about stalling phase 2? I'd think this would still be a rough quest to complete SQs in but I can faintly see what you are doing here.

I also love the fact that you are able to play Rally the West in Battle of Carn Dum.... cool theme points to boot!

@MDuckworth83 ... side quests have a) great effects b) stall and c) boost your stats with Thurindir and Legacy Blade. Also, completing them is not that hard when you are able to reliably beat Rally the West turn 1. If you die, it is either threat through card effects or enemy pressure. I never had the situation with this deck were I did not quest well.

Thanks for sharing this deck! I had the notion to try something like this, but was really happy to see this already fleshed out, don't know if I would have come to Rally the West, but it really is key. I also have been wanting to build a Rohan deck and this is satisfies the itch. Really solid!
