Yepesnopes 1272

Yepesnopes has a newer deck inspired by this one: Eagles of the Eyrie

With the arrival of Radagast we have seen a proliferation of Eagle decks. While I no doubt the decks are fun and strong, I am one of those who likes trying building "thematic" decks. I feel we are still missing may be an Eagle hero in order to make a thematic Eagle deck.

Nevertheless, we know that by the end of the Third Age, a colony of Eagles lived in the northern parts of the Misty Mountains. Those eagles mostly nested upon the eastward slopes not far from the High Pass leading from Rivendell. These Eagles helped the Elves of Rivendell and Radagast in watching the land and in gathering news about the Orcs. For this reason, I think a deck that includes the Istari and a lord from Rivendell is a rather thematic eagle deck.

Actually, I could not decide which hero line up would be more thematic, Gandalf, Radagast and Glorfindel, or Elrond, Radagast and Glorfindel (I rejected the Gandalf, Radagast and Elrond line up due to its high threat). For this reason, I present two decks in one :)

The deck is straight forward to play, so I won't bother you with explanations.

In its Elrond, Radagast and Glorfindel line up, swap

2 x Expert Treasure-hunter, 2 x Gandalf's Staff, 1 X Shadowfax, 2 x Support of the Eagles for

2x Word of Command, 3x Vilya, 1 x Song of Battle and 1 x Unexpected Courage

Both decks are quite strong (probably the Gandalf version is stronger) and plesant to play with.

In solo I have tried the deck on the following quests:

Journey Along the Anduin (1st attempt)

The 7th Level (1st attempt)

Peril in Pelargir (1st attempt)

The Fords of Isen (1st attempt)

The Weather Hills (1st attempt)

Escape from Umbar (2nd attempt)

I hope you like it and please comment if you would do something different.

P.S. 1: In case you play in multiplayer and your team mates don't like Doom cards, the deck won't suffer much if you remove those Deep Knowledges.

P.S. 2: Lately I am playing swapping 1 x Meneldor or (1 X Gwaihir) for 1 x Song of Battle, which I usually put on Glorfindel. It gives a wider use to Glorfindel's resource pool and removes the necessity of having the tactic events on the top of the deck in order to be able to play them.

I think you made the perfect thematic choice here. Like Gandalf in LotR, Glorfindel too slayed a Balrog and was mortally wounded and his body was recovered by Thorondor. Glorfindel is sent by the Valar back to middle earth in the second age.
