nttArc 238
At the outset our deck building did not necessarily have a clear goal. There is a fair mix of enemies, locations and treacheries so the only stand out was that willpower being reduced to zero was a problem. Therefore, we set out to make decks where we did not need to worry about losing heroes and allies. We also decided that we didn't want to go for dwarves yet again. We did pretty well, took control of the board early. I was able to get out Gildor Inglorien on turn 2 with my 4 lore resources collected plus Bifur stealing a tactics resource from Katherine. That helped a lot to control the board state, in particular because Aragorn amassed 3 wounds early on. We didn't have all smooth sailing, two trolls came out fairly close together. However, our low starting threat let us take the trolls slowly. Our board control + 4 damage Gandalf helped to handle the first troll and a forest snare helped with the other. Northern Tracker and The Riddermark's Finest helped pop Caradhras nearly as soon as possible and therefore mitigated a lot of the danger. And oh yea, no Steward of Gondor until very near the end. Had a lot of fun with this one.
