This deck was inspired by Matt (Newman) and Caleb (Grace) who shared some really cool ideas on Card Talk. The deck is based on some of the latest cards from the latest cycle: Lothiriel, Horn of the Mark, and The Muster of Rohan. The latter saved me in The Dunland Trap in the last quest phase. It was a nice surprise to get a win against such a tough quest!
Lothiriel is awesome, especially when you can put into play Eomund committed to the quest, and then you can ready your whole board when he gets shuffled in the deck. Another great combo is with Escort from Edoras, but it’s better when Gamling is already in play so that you can bring the Escort back to your hand.
The other cards are the usual suspects in a Rohan deck. Some mounts to boost Eomer’s attack to 5 (7 if another character leaves play) and Theoden, and the shield to boost Theoden’s defense.
The deck is really cool to play, it involves a lot of decision making, mainly in the quest phase. The Muster of Rohan is probably my favorite card from the Vengeance of Mordor cycle.
