Alonewolf87 1921

Alonewolf87 has a newer deck inspired by this one: THE Grey Wanderer

A take on the Grey Wanderer contract with the original man...Istari himself: Gandalf. A lot of unique allies, but you can play them by putting on the top of the deck in the planning phase, with Timely Aid or by discarding them and then using Stand and Fight.

miss some gandalfshenanigans:

  • put in a bilbo, helps to get the pipe (if you take pipe as 1. attachement, not necessary)
  • a stewrd helps, he can play from top
  • u need gleowine
  • with this much noldor elronds council is very usefull
  • put in arwen, she helps a lot defending and 2 cost for 2 willpower is good.

so, not gandalf, but grey wanderer-related:

  • why no strider? even if u choos the pipe as first attachement, its usefull to play strider lateron
  • where are the 3 ressourcefull? that a mandatory to make a grey wanderer heavy as a 3-hero-deck. specially with no steward, how do u want to pay for all your expensive allies? one every 3 rounds? thats not enough to be effective. (yes i know there are 3 timely aid, but not enough ;) )

protector of lorien? let me see you draw 1-2 cards per roud, where do u want to have the cards for it?

beorn. i think u want to aid him in with the pipe. but there are so many you want to aid in. i think he is not worth it, also deorwine. the others are good, exept of the knights. for aiding, you have enough other worthy goals, and to pay he is to expensive. treebeard is good, but 3 times? so my modifications where:

out: beorn deorwine 3 knight of the white tower 2 treebeard 3 protector of lorien

in: arwen bilbo guthwine 3 warning of the dunedain 1-3 courage 1 strider 1-3 elronds council

furthermore i would try to make some space for test of will. take 3 of the 12 cards from dwarven tomb, stand and fight flame of arnor and word of command.

hope, my opinion fits your intends ;)

a different way seem to me add more shapechanger and exploit more of beorn (and perhaps 1-2 bears)

For the resources I have the Contract and the Staff to already get 3 extra resources each round, it might be a good start. Thanks for your input

Strider could be a good idea, but I am starting to be annoyed at how much it's used and abused in Grey Wanderers decks, I will think about it. The protector is mainly a way to discard an ally I want to play with Stand and Fight to avoid the Contact limitation on unique cards. For some of the other comments take in mind that this is meant to be played in this Fellowship ringsdb.com

in that fellwoships, i cannot see any gleowine (she can be used for every player if you draw enough). furthermore ressourcefull would be no harm for others, and courage can be attached to heroes of other player if you have enough readying for gandalf. o.k. arwen-ally cannot be used. but my arguments to beorn and deorwine knights and 3 treebeards stand still.

another council looking at the 4-fellowship. there are only 2 dunedain pathfinder. i would strongly sugggest, add more pathfinder or rhovanion outrider to handle locations better. specially the rhovanion outrider are very flexible at use.
