Ended up developing this deck to tackle The Lonely Mountain challenge. This was my 3rd or 4th different deck tackling that quest and getting demolished by Smaug.
Born Aloft might look a bit odd, but with Gandalf it functions as Sneak Attack 4-6 once you have Narvi's Belt in place to pay for the tactics. And you want tactics for a couple copies of Ring Mail in any case in order to stack up Dain to take a hit or two from Smaug if you need him to.
Shadow of the Past + Risk Some Light is also a neat little combo that can allow you to both put back encounter deck cards that don't trigger Smaug's multi-attack and know how to plan for the encounter deck.
Lastly if the game goes much beyond 8-9 turns you will run through your whole deck so hold onto the single copy of Will of the West in case you need a reset.
The one tight part is that I almost felt like I didn't quite have as many Dwarves as I would have ideally liked. But everything else plays a very important part so tbh I'm not really sure what I'd cut to add more.
Is the Bifur ally a mistake, or do you count on losing your hero?
