Doing quite well both solo and multiplayer in the Against the Shadow cycle.
Imrahil, Thalin and eagles questing. Thalin giving the first needed wound to the enemies.
Killing / slowing enemies in the staging area (Hands Upon the Bow), Hail of Stones, Fresh Tracks, Descendant of Thorondor, or even better Descendant of Thorondor + Sneak Attack.
Even though Gandalf is direct damage as well, I mostly play him for cards / threat reduction.
Rivendell Blade, Support of the Eagles to support Legolas as the slayer (I usually play the first Support of the Eagles on Thalin in siege / battle scenarios), Steward of Gondor for him to pay for the expensive eagles.
Gondorian Spearman (possibly with Spear of Citadel) helps to get rid of the wounded enemies. I used to play more Spears of Citadel, but since Gondorian Spearman is the only character it makes sense to play it on, found it not worth it.
Radagast is there to enhance the resource generation and to heal the eagles if there are more archers, but is not essential and can be substituted for something else (be it another Hail of Stones, Support of the Eagles, DĂșnedain Watcher, Faramir).
For the The Siege of Cair Andros I substituted Faramir and CelebrĂan's Stone for Defender of Rammas).
