Fredmans 102
So, I have finally gotten hold of my missing three scenario packs for the Dwarrow-delf cycle, and since I missed Watcher in the Water, Foundations of Stone and Shadow and Flame, I never played The Long Dark. Simultaneously, I opened The Road Darkens, and a cunning plan evolved.
Would it not be fun if Balin had some hobbits of intelligence on his mission to re-enter Moria, of course encouraged and occasionally scolded by Gandalf. So, I needed Balin, and therefore of course Dwalin, since that is how they are counted. Then I picked Dori, because he will later be famous for his hobbit-rescuing and grumping about it. I figured his Sentinel ability could be needed for a high-threat hobbit deck.
Side-note. I have run a lot of Dwarf decks with Thorin and/or Dain, and I am a little bit tired of them, so I wanted something new.
I run a little short on allies, but I find that I usually can get enough resources, resource-smoothing up for me to run expensive allies and more sentinels. Dori can take some beating, Dwalin can aid in defense while I get a board state going.
Obvious picks. Dori for Unexpected Courage (I run 1, because I have 2, and Gandalf wanted the other). Balin for Steward of Gondor. Narvi's Belt on Dwalin, since he does not really use many resources.
Run it in pair with Heroes of Intelligence for this kind of Moria quest, mission
Progress so far: Into the Pit: 2/4 (2/2 after tweaking the deck into its current whereabouts) Chamber of Mazarbul: 2/3 Flight from Moria: 2/4
