Fredmans 102

Fredmans has a newer deck inspired by this one: Heroes of Intelligence Throwing Rocks in the Lake, disturbin

So, I have finally gotten hold of my missing three scenario packs for the Dwarrow-delf cycle, and since I missed Watcher in the Water, Foundations of Stone and Shadow and Flame, I never played The Long Dark. Simultaneously, I opened The Road Darkens, and a cunning plan evolved.

Would it not be fun if Balin had some hobbits of intelligence on his mission to re-enter Moria, of course encouraged and occasionally scolded by Gandalf? So, Gandalf was obvious. I also wanted Spirit Merry for his threat-reduction to occasionally get me into Secrecy. I figured the dwarves would do the most of the fighting and defending, although Gandalf can take on some big bad guys with Flame of Anor. That left me with Lore Pippin, which is good because there are some essential Lore cards (Fast Hitch and Expert Treasure-Hunter, which feels like cheating with Gandalf's ability). I should probably run at least two, but I think it is more fun to use it for Pippin alone.

I run most heroes in ones, except for Arwen and Bilbo. Bilbo, because he is one of the mulligan targets for his ability to find Gandalf's Pipe. Arwen to help me in the early stages with extra defense. Some allies are in there more for fun, like Galadriel and Boromir, but she did show up in Dol Guldur, did she not? And who but Boromir should be there for Merry and Pippin? Imladris Stargazer is a back-up plan, but can easily switch her attention to the dwarves if they are struggling with getting the right cards.

Most of the side deck is for the Lore section of the deck, where I am a bit undecided. This is the Flight from Moria version of the deck, which ran 2/4. I had great fun yanking treacheries from the deck, but never managed to find Foe Beyond. The deck have resources, although I did pull out some expensive allies to lessen the cost curve, and a lot of card draw and if it gets going, it has a lot of threat reduction. Both wins in Flight from Moria, I was in Secrecy at the end of the game. Dunedain Cache was a tech card for the Goblin Sniper.

Into the Pit: 2/4 (2/2 after tweaking the deck into its current whereabouts) Chamber of Mazarbul: 2/3 Flight from Moria: 2/4 Redhorn Gate: 1/1

Edit: I ditched Blade of Gondolin for a third dagger. If it is good enough for hobbits, it will do for Gandalf as well and the damage is more valuable than the progress. I had to replace Arwen since she is an objective ally for two scenarios, but I included Elrond to go looking for her and some more Lore encounter card sniping. Once a Fast Hitch is out for Merry, and an Expert Treasure-hunter for Pippin, the threat reduction and card draw is immense (up to 7 cards a turn). I often end up drawing the entire deck.
