For some time, I've wanted to make a deck focusing on pipes that can hold its own in solo play, especially in terms of combat (I've had some more multiplayer-focused pipe builds in the past). The Hobbit Pipe/Smoke Ring combo is such a cool idea, but it's difficult to put into practice sometimes due to the difficulty of drawing them quickly enough. This deck uses the fantastic card draw of Gandalf to help with this aspect. Bilbo Baggins definitely helps grab pipes as well, and you can always chump the first copy of Bilbo to put a second copy in if you want to use his ability twice.

The central resource engine is Expert Treasure-hunter/Hidden Cache/Wizard Pipe. Gandalf and Merry make a fine attacking combination, while Frodo can help handle the defense. This isn't quite a top-tier deck, as it needs some time to get working, but against a quest that doesn't start out too hectic, you should have a fighting chance. I've tried to include as many Hobbit-y elements while making some concessions to pragmatism as well. When you get those pipes going, it's really a sight to behold. Enjoy!

Fantastic deck, I hope Pipes get more and more support so that solo players can fully enjoy them! Although Frodo is a bit risky. Just don't try to get too high...

on threat. Sorry!
