doomguard 2240

the "usual" noldordeck with the elite, but now, with the ring.

but this time, elrond keep the ring from frodo and claim its power, so no one can defeat him.

(in multiplayer, if there is a good sentinaldefender at the table the ring is not necessary)

from startinghand discard all elvenlight, lords of the eldar, will of the west and all allies except 1 expensive (at best gildor or glorfindel) one elvenjeweler and a stargazer perhaps discard more, depends on what you have. priority is on to the sea. because of the high startingthread i would not discard elronds council. will of the west can get back with the dwarventomb later.

strategy after galdor"mulligan":

if no to the sea is in hand play drinking song if able

  • play all elronds council you have
  • play to the sea - discard a card to give arwen a ressource
  • play inner strength on elrond
  • play well preserved cloak of lorien or lembas with galdor
  • pay a expensive noldor with elronds 1 res and to the sea, empty your hand this way except for vilya and 1 stargazer

use galdor if you do not have vilya and/or stargazer. if you have play them next round, and then empty your hand.

if you get no to the sea but vilya and a stargazer, play these in the 1. round and use them. use to the sea + galdor later.

if it worked well you can play 2 elvenlight per round and put a card into play with vilya. that makes 4 cards per round + about 10 with galdor 1. round and + 6 later, so 53 cards are o.k. with stargazer you can control which ones you will draw and which one to vilya in.

with to the sea you can discard 1-2 cards (elvenlight) to play an ally and have 1 res for events or attachements. so you usually get 2 allys and a 1 cost event or attachement per round.

some advice:

  • empty your hand to play lindir
  • make sure you have at least 2 elvenlight in your hand when you use will of the west
  • use the dwarven tomp wisely. priority for a long game is will of the west (if it was discarded), but it can save games if used for test of will or elronds council

all attachements go to elrond. he claims the true power and can defend well with at least 4 and shadowcancelling, with cloak raise up to 5. with much healing he should not be in danger even against the hardest enemys. 2.cloak to gildor or elrohir
