I rarely make decks from scratch myself. The game is difficult enough that I often need to borrow decks that experienced players constructed. But for once I thought I'd give it a try. I wanted to use Rosie as a hero so that I could give her cards like Dunedain Quest and Celebrian's Stone. I also wanted to build a typical hobbit deck which focuses on gaining different bonuses from engaging enemies with higher engagement cost than my threat, so Sam and Pippin seemed like the obvious choices. I have a lot of Spirit cards in my side board because I originally wanted to use Hobbit Pipes and threat reduction. Perhaps I will try a variant of this decks which uses Spirit Frodo or Merry instead of Pippin or Sam to enable the Spirit route.
