Putting this right up top: This deck build only works when you are playing Solo against Temple of the Deceived in either normal mode or Nightmare mode. This is the latest in my effort to play the Nightmare version of the Grey Haven cycle using thematic decks. Part of the theme comes from the opening lines of The Hobbit where Bilbo mentions that Gandalf is known for taking hobbits sailing (it's true, go look it up!). So the goal is to use a party of hobbits to defeat the island. I started by looking at various hobbit decks. A fellowship deck caught my eye and I started toying with it before I even realized that this scenario gives me a head start by having Captain Sahir and Na'asiyah in play! That's five of the nine characters in play at the start! From there it was just a matter of figuring out who the other four characters would be (well actually who the 9th would be because the other three were at the top of the list.) The deck needs a lot of resources in order to get rolling. You are feeding resources to your objective allies and you also need one to use Frodo's ability every turn. I went 3-2 vs this scenario. I built up my fellowship before moving anywhere and then attempted to run through the table as quickly as possible. Frodo gets Steward of Gondor, Book and perhaps a Resourceful. A Fast Hitch should go on Tom Cotton along with a Hobbit Cloak and Ring Mail. Other Fast Hitches on Rosie. Any hobbit follower can be Sword-Than. Initially, I was getting fellowship up and running by turn 3 or 4. But I realized that wasn't really necessary. Turn 6 or 7 works. Save your Good Harvests for Galadhrim's Greeting!
