Mar 23, 2022I'd recommend to add a 3rd copy of Gandalf. The combo with Sneak Attack is one of the best things you can do with cards from the core-set. To find the space in your deck, you might want to drop 1 copy of Celebrian's Stone, Gleowine or Henamarth (quite redundant with Denethor on the table), as they are all unique. |
Mar 23, 2022Thanks for the feedback. After playing through passage through Mirkwood last night, I completely agree. I drew sneak attack twice and never Gandalf. I'll cut Henamarth, as I didn't even want to add that card in the first place. It was just filler to get me to 50 and to cheapen my resource curve. |

Mar 23, 2022To be honest, I don't think that Radagast's Cunning and Secret Paths are good enough to put them in a deck at all. Their effect is only temporary and hardly relevant in those quests that you want to play with core-set cards. Cheap allies or the full set of Faramir are universally stronger, imho. In your deck, if I had to change things, I think I'd go for more card-draw (+1 Lorien's Wealth and/ or Valiant Sacrifice), maybe even use Beravor instead of Glorfindel. For Journey along the Anduin, you might also consider Son of Arnor. It has a nice synergy with Forest Snare. You can engage an enemy (i.e. the Hill Troll) in the planning phase and trap him before he ever attacks. |
First deck. Not playtested.
