this deck benefits from low thread that is improved by pippins ability to increase engagement cost from enemys.
with lowthread (MotK) Boromir can use his bonus against most enemys and so is a good defender. give him a shield and a weapon and he is a good fighter overall. together with glorfindel they should be able to kill most enemys.
thorongil gives you either another action for boromir (and his suiciadal ability, that can be very thematic in the saga) or a bonus for gondor-allies, there are 6 of them in the deck. overall its a strategig decision if und what thorongil you will play.
with drinkingsongs and runes you should be able to get an Elrond's Counsel early to remain in secrecy any longer
