Tongar 4

Tongar has a newer deck inspired by this one: Beorn’s Cub

I’ve read through Beorn’s INCREDIBLE new player walkthrough here: https://hallofbeorn.wordpress.com/beorns-path/. If you’re new to this game, like me, then start there for sure.

This is my first attempt at building a solid L+L 50-card deck, based heavily upon the layout in Beorn’s Path. Hence the name: Beorn’s Cub.

I first started with the Beorn’s one that he evolves. I played that 4 times (the first two scenarios twice each), and wasn’t happy with the results. So, I removed some dead cards which always seemed to just hang around in my hand forever, and added in some cheaper options with more utility.

The deck plays a lot like a slow engine builder — it takes a while to get it online, but then it becomes almost unstoppable once it does.

Using Denethor to look at and possibly bury the encounter card is key. Better still is the ability to also leverage Henamarth Riversong, to see what the next card is after/if you bury the first one. This combo really lets you basically abuse the turn mechanics to know whether it’s a questing turn or a fighting one. Basically.
