First -- massive thanks to Seastan for his Gloin deck and the video where he beat Ruins of Belegost. I had tried Dwarves, Silvan, Outlands and some other deck I don't even remember before I finally threw in the towel and came here searching for help. Anyways, this deck is about 90% the same as the original.

I had to make one change right off the bat because I only have 2 cores --- and thus only 2 Unexpected Courage. But his last UC didn't come until very late in the video, so I figured I could give it a shot with a Cram as a substitute. After about 15 attempts that got nowhere near to completing stage 1, I decided to try some changes.

This deck in this quest needs several attachments to show up in the first 3 rounds. So....Master of the Forge needed to come in to help dig. A few attempts later, I was in stage 2 --- progress --- but that was as far as I got. I hit stage 2 a couple of more times, so I knew this was the right direction to go.

I messed around with a few other cards - changing about 15% of Seastan's original deck at one point. But I started not achieving stage 2 again. So I rewatched his video and started moving back towards the original deck.

Finally, it hit me. I need to be able to get my Sneak Attacks and Gandalf back. Will of the West for the win. I think I won the game on the 3rd try after I added that card.

I found that you want at least one of Steward, Blood, or Master of the Forge in your opening hand --- preferably with some additional card draw. (By the way, insane opening hand in Seastan's video!) You have to get Steward, Blood and some healing out by round 3 (round 4 if you can Sneak Attack Gandalf early), so you've got to dig and dig fast.

You will lose to this quest a LOT. But with a little luck, this deck can get you thru it --- and I think it's a tad more consistent for this particular quest than Seastan's original.

Good luck. And again, big thanks to Seastan.
