After getting secondhanded an old core set with an extra Czech "protector of Lorien" I really got into this game.

After beating the first consistent quest with all premade decks solo (except tactics) and with my wife, I decided to take on the second quest only to find my hopes and dreams crushed not being able to pass even the first part...

So I decided to make a tournament deck that will have my favorite tactics. I saw the "Killer Deck" but I really wanted to focus on tactics and having a 50 cards deck to beat the second quest.

How the deck works:

I am basically trying to draw as many cards as possible until the troll gets in until I get some of the key cards: Forest Snare, Protector of Lorien, or Feint. I am getting slowly progressing on the quest tokens while I cheap down the troll/deal with other threats. I keep stalling until I have a big board and Faramir. Sneak attack Gandalf is key to stall. Then I usually finish the troll using For Gondor! Faramir is excellent for the second part of the quest with the big board.

I was considering the healing cards which also would do a nice combo with Protector of Lorien since I use it a lot to mainly tank the troll's damage but not sure what to remove.

This game is amazing, I thought I ll just try it out and then resell but now I am hooked up, especially with the tactics. I would like to get more stuff now but not sure what is best. The hero expansion or two starter decks?
