I created this deck specifically for "Catch an Orc" quest, but I don't see why wont this would not work with other quests that require heavy location clear and mitigating enemy engagement with lowering threat and clearing enemies engaging them with strong hero like Gimli.
I don't know exactly how good it is in a long run, but after devastating loses against this quest with all kinds of different decks I came up with this and from 3 tries this won 2 of them, which felt great taking in consideration that i lost like 7 times before with other decks. Deck requires some luck at the beginning to be successful. So you pretty much need Light of Valinor or Westfold Horse-breeder in hand so mulligan if you don't have ether, also if you get the both Asfaloth in out of play deck and you are getting consistently unlucky with that increase them to 3 for higher chance to get it early.
This deck is a long burner, you wont finish early and it needs some set up, but it is very responsive and quite flexible for what this quest throws at you
Main mechanics to play around are
Gimli is your enemy clear, so take wounds early and use him as meat shield to increase his damage, he will be main damage dealer with Raiment of War and if you can get Unexpected Courage and Vigilant Guard on him he is set for the rest of the quest
Veteran Sword-elf is your second big damage dealer, after she comes to into play try to get rid of other version of her, which should not be hard with Daeron's Runes and search mechanic this quest have with out of play cards, if you get Vigilant Guard and second Raiment of War on her you wont need to worry about enemies anymore you can get rid of them quite easily with Quick Strike and Unseen Strike without problem and that includes both Mugash and his guard
This is deck is very low cost, so you wont need many resources, but if you get Horn of Gondor early put on Gimli or Glorfindel as Tactics and Spirit are the ones that required the most, but as the game will drag a bit you should not have problems on this front, if you have problems consider using The White Council, also use Westfold Horse-breeder and Galadriel's Handmaiden as meat shields to generate resource
So for locations there is quite a lot of cards that deal with that so you should not have problem clearing locations, if you get Asfaloth earth you are set with assistance from Ancestral Knowledge and Strength of Will, for the most locations you will clear them right when they come out
Also this deck is very card rich, with both Beravor active, Daeron's Runes and Gandalf and search mechanic in this quest youshould not have problems with card wealth, I think I never went under 5 cards in my hand, if you having trouble with this add Unexpected Courage to Beravor which might help you to activate her ability more
A Test of Will and Hasty Stroke will deal with shadow cards and when reviled effects, main one to worry about should be shadow cards that discard attachments and one that triggers additional attack, and when reviled effect that removes time from stage other effects wont be a problems as mostly you will clean the staging area, if you have problems with time add Blade of Gondolin to Glorfindel and use him to help Gimli to kill things
For threat control use Gandalf and Elrond's Counsel, Galadriel's Handmaiden will help with that as well.
You mostly wont have trouble questing as locations will be dealt with immediately and same with enemies only thing i recommend is save 1 Gandalf and resources for him for last stage so you can capture Mugash immediately and finish quest in next turn, otherwise you might get overrun as 1 hero will be incapacitated for the rest of the game
So take your time to set up and you should not have too much trouble,
Also I played this on easy mode twice and it won both time quite easily, enemies and locations does not matter but thous extra 3 resource at the beginning set you up quite nicely
