This deck is built around the concept of allowing Beorn to die gloriously in battle while defending this deck and others through his sentinel ability. It then allows you to bring him back over and over again.
The only use for Tactics resources in this deck is Landroval so they should build up and make playing Landroval an easy option by the time Beorn is near death. Grima can also lower the cost by one.
Merry is here to lower threat and provide spirit resources so that Fortune or Fate can be played over and over again with Dwarven Tomb. A Good Meal and Grima can reduce the cost down to 2 resources!.
Grima provides access to healing characters such as Ioreth and Warden of Healing not to heal Beorn directly but to be used in conjunction with The Houses of Healing. Grima can lower the cost of The Houses of Healing by one and with Keys of Orthanc attached can build up plenty of resources along the way.
There is card draw included through Daeron's Runes, Deep Knowledge, and Gleowine. Along with a litte extra threat reduction through Smoke Rings, Hobbit Pipe, and The Galadhrim's Greeting to counter Grima and other threat raising cards.
Finally there is a little extra attack included with Dunedain Hunter and Last Stand.
This deck is meant to be paired with the deck Support of the Immortals.

Nov 22, 2016I wasn't sure if you could use all these cards on Beorn with his "Immune to player card effects" effect, but I've just had a look through the FFG FAQs and you totally can. When he is in the discard pile, he is out of play, so his effects are not active, so he isn't "Immune to player card effects". This deck looks brilliant. Keep spawning that bear!! |
Nov 22, 2016Thanks! I love Beorn! |
Creative! I like it; fun overuse of Beorn here.
