Introduction
After a decent amount of time spent on crafting this deck and a very long period playtesting it, I can finally share with the community a deck of mine that I can truly call a One Deck.
I successfully used this deck against all the scenarios of the game, achieving a respectable win rate and struggling with only a few specific scenarios. This deck is not meant to be the most efficient One Deck possible, but it also strives to showcase as many aspects of the game as possible to the players (that's also part of the reason you will see things side-quest and Guarded X cards in it).
I used this deck against ALL the scenarios in the game. When playing outside of Campaign Mode I completed at least 3 games against each scenario (but possibly more depending on the win/loss ration). When playing Campaign Mode I played only until I got my first win against the scenario. I played the scenarios in NM Mode or Hard Mode when that was available (or in both normal and NM/Hard if there was an argument for the standard version being more difficult).

Deck Name
The 7 and 1/2 walkers represent the maximum number of resource generating characters you can end up with, which are:
- the 4 starting heroes,
- the Sword-Thain hero (which is often Nori since then you are able to give him UC and use its ability twice to loop crucial cards; the same approach could be used for Faramir in very willpower intensive quests like Mount Doom. On occasions you might want to make a Lore ally the Sword-thain hero to better pay for Warden of Healing's readying),
- Thalion when there are 3+ side quests in the VD,
- the Baggins/Fellowship hero in the Sagas,
- last but not least Treebeard (which with its amazing stats and resource generation can act as an honorary hero).
Sideboard
The heroes in the sideboard are those that might commonly be used with Thorongil, while Halfast Gamgee is for those missions with Faramir objective-ally if you feel like substituting him (personally I simply played those quest being unable to play my Faramir).
Conclusion
Crafting and playing this deck was a long and fulfilling experience and revisiting the whole length of the scenarios of this game made for a nice trip down memory lane. I hope you will give this deck a try and that you will enjoy it as much as I have!

May 09, 2024Instant like and favorite! "successfully used this deck against all the scenarios of the game, achieving a respectable win rate and struggling with only a few specific scenarios. This deck is not meant to be the most efficient One Deck possible, but it also strives to showcase as many aspects of the game as possible to the players" I told you this in private before, but I consider this to be an absolutely ingenious approach to the One Deck challenge that noone has ever even attempted before. What an amazing undertaking, such a great deck to try out for people who want to experience the full scope of the game's endless possibilities! Oh and also playing each scenario thrice ... Insanity! |
