use guarded attachments on active locations in the early game to grab them and buff Sam's attack (sting and orcrist-- could also swap in glamdring for draw) and Fatty's defense (mithril shirt and hobbit cloak).
bill the pony gives +1hp to all hobbits.
engage with enemies with higher threat to draw with Pippin and trigger Sam's response.
mulligan for steward of Gondor and maybe some attachments. steward on Pippin for using old gaffer to stunlock enemies.
use bartering to swap steward to whoever you might need.
faramir and arkenstone provide huge willpower buffs for questing.
