Leadership / Tactics with Core Set cards, originally build to journey down the Anduin (although I now know this is not the best way to do it). Heroes have a reasonably low threat (28), which allows for some breathing space. Theoden gives resources to those who need it, Thalin shoots down Crows and other critters (which can be finished off by Spearmen), and Gimli hacks away at Trolls. He is assisted by Gandalf, who may sneak attack. Faramir, with a host of goons, provides the questing power.
Defeated Journey Down the Anduin once, while encountering both Hill Trolls and a Marsh Adder. The deck has weak questing power though if Faramir doesn't show, which usually means there is too little time.
