This deck is a great list to help a beginner get through Passage Through Mirkwood using just the core set. It also helps getting used to timing and various simple mechanics of the game to let a beginner get comfortable with the pace and style of LOTR LCG.
The deck responds well to a more aggressive questing approach. I find leaning into committing heroes and ally's to questing lets you use some of the attachments (Unexpected Courage, Aragorns ability, Ever Vigilant) to ready characters in battle. This deck also wants you to use the events constantly, whilst timing is key, its important to be zealous with pushing enemies back, or stopping them from attacking to you can attack freely.
Think: Quest quickly, Push enemies back, Swing first.
