One of a personal collection of decks I’ve built both physically and digitally striving to make the most powerful but still thematic combinations I could with my entire card pool – primarily tested for two player (or two handed) matches.
Rohan has always been tough nut to crack in terms of consistency. Not my idea, but this hero build finally solved that for me.
Starting Hand (Mulligan For): Anything offering card draw as that will be your primary limitation.
Resource Gen & Card Draw: Gleowine, Peace and Thought, Gandalf and Horn off the Mark support card draw nicely. Four heroes offers plenty of resources, and Theoden, Grima and Theodred all have abilities supporting your resource spend.
Questing: Is very solid here. 9 willpower out the gate is lovely. Round 1 you can quest this comfortably in most cases. Eowyn’s ability guarantees you can ready to immediately knock out the attacker, if you need to remove that early pressure.
Combat: Eowyn’s ability is amazing. Besides, this deck is often a little slow on combat. First you need to build your allies, and often, I find myself chump blocking. Thankfully this deck does build allies quickly, as long as you can keep your card draw flowing.
Partners (Fellowships): This deck is versatile and satisfyingly consistent. When you can pull off combos like graduating Thalion to a fifth hero, you’re flying. Its quest and combat offerings are both only middle however, so your partner(s) need to be capable of picking up the slack. This deck works neither as a solo quester or combat partner against scenarios heavy in locations or enemies respectively. In 3-4 player it should be great. In 2, just weigh the scenario its up against.
