Galadantien 43

Historically Dunedain decks struggle on quest and card draw. Not anymore!

With "The Riddle Game" giving Halbarad "Stone of Elostirion", starting with an enemy engaged, and Gilraen sharing her willpower around, you've got Halbarad questing for 6 without exhausting, and Thurindir starting with 4 quest as well, which will very quickly become 5 after completing a side quest in round 1. And you even get that crucial extra card draw. As a contract, I think its thematic Aragorn having this, given his role in the hunt for Gollum.

Gilaren also combos beautifully with "The Riddle Game". When "Hungry Creature" is dealt a shadow card you "look" at it to complete the forced effect. Gilraen's action can then "turn a shadow card faceup" and then deal Hungry Creature another shadow card to repeat the forced effect in a single round, giving you the chance at 2 out of the 3 needed progress, in a single round. What's even better, doing this gives you another card draw.

Many attachments in this deck allow your heroes to do double duty questing/defending and attacking. Gilraen is your defender. With "Gift of Foresight" and "Shining Shield" she has 6 defense. Take that Beregond. These two attachments, I've found are worth taking your mulligan for. Thurindir can give you "Gather Information" in your starting hand. I usually use that to grab the one I'm missing.
