This is the deck I used for my saga campaign for The Uruk-hai. Down a hero with Merry captive, I went with two Leadership heroes, but Amarthiúl’s ability allows me to splash Tactics.
Mulligan for Steward of Gondor and/or Visionary Leadership, then hope to draw Faramir. Those are the 3 key cards (this is a Gondor deck, after all, however in anti-thematic for this quest).
Amarthiúl gets Steward and then Gondorian Shield, as he is the main defender and will need the shield (or Honour Guards) to defend against Uglúk, along with Feint.
Use Errand Rider to pass extra resources to Fellowship Aragorn to use his ability every turn.
With no Spirit cards, I put Celebrian’s Stone on Sam, along with hopefully Sting, to boost his willpower as he is the main quester until there are sufficient Gondor allies.
Gandalf primarily for card draw, willpower, and archery soak. Ranger of Cardolan is a nice archery target as well because he comes in upon engagement, takes damage, then leaves okay.
Fun deck, albeit inconsistent relying on a multi-card combos.
