Does it matter if you play your Ents in the planning phase vs the quest phase? Nope, since they can't commit to the quest on the first turn anyway.
Quest with everyone, then, drop down a tactics ent with Hirgon and have it ready for combat on the same turn thanks to Faramir.
Starting from turn 1 you can have a Derndingle Warrior ready to defend whatever enemy comes down on you.
Turn 2 you can get out some attackers. Hold back Elrond from the quest at some point to load him up with resources from Proud Hunters.
Another great card to play with Hirgon is the Marksman of Lórien, since you can target the enemy that just came out of the deck during the quest phase.
The combination of sentinel defenders and ranged attackers makes this a solid deck for multiplayer as well. Enjoy!
