Faced with frustration saving the Eagle in JtR, I tried to come up with a deck that is able to manipulate the encounter deck more thoroughly.
Update: This is half of a fellowship, the other half made up by Tactics/Lore.

Oct 28, 2017It's very hard to win without some form of healing in your own deck because you can't depend on Athelas showing up. Lore might be a better choice than leadership in this case if only for Lore of Imladris, which is amazing in this quest. |
Oct 28, 2017Actually, this is only half of a Fellowship. I didn't have my partner's decklist at hand, so I couldn't add it. Eleanor, backed by A Test of Will did indeed safe the day for us – combined with a good bit of luck, as we found a treasure trove of Athelas very early in the quest. dalestephenson, what does it mean to beat the scenario "progression-style"? |
Oct 28, 2017Frodo did his part as well, though, being able to suck up lots of damage at no immediate cost was very important. |
Oct 28, 2017Progression Style means playing a quest with only the cards that were released at the time of that quest's release. It looks like that's what you're doing with this deck. |
Oct 28, 2017Thanks, that's indeed what we are doing. We got a lot of cards from a friend whose playing partner moved away and are now exploring the scenarios one-by-one. |
Did Eleanor save the day for you? Beating JtR progression-style with leadership/spirit is tough.
