Mr. Meson 75

This is primarily a theme deck (with a few exceptions).

Beregond and Pippin played critical roles in the defense of Minas Tirith, but Gandalf is the one who really inspired the troops to stand against Mordor's hordes.

Pippin is there as a low threat, almost always questing character. Throw an Expert Treasure-hunter on him. Gandalf will always have the top card of your deck revealed. Make sure you Wizard Pipe Hidden Caches to the top of your deck, and let the money flow!

Beregond is amazing. Play a Gondorian Shield with Gandalf of the top of your deck, and get Beregond defending for 6. Prioritize putting your first Unexpected Courage you see on Beregond, then you can do a second later if needed. When things are looking really grim (as they did recently in my three player game of The Things in the Depths), use Desperate Defense.

Just as Gandalf was the key leader in the defense of Minas Tirith, so he is the key hero in this deck. All the standard Gandalf attachments need no explanation. I like putting the Magic Ring on Gandalf. Gandalf should also have at least one Unexpected Courage on him.

Inspiring Presence was the first card I had in mind after I decided my hero lineup. Gandalf urged the troops on to battle at Minas Tirith, and so he shall lead your heroes in to battle. Especially in multiplayer when you or your teammates can afford to spend the leadership resources, this card is crazy good.

The ally selections are mostly to go along with the Gondor theme, but I made a couple strategic decisions. Master of the Forge will dig up your critical attachments, and Bilbo Baggins helps you get that Wizard Pipe out ASAP.

Yes, it relies on Outlands Characters. Yes, it is being Gandalf Guy. Yes, it uses Expert Treasure-hunter and Hidden Cache for extreme resource generation.

Have FUN! And also please leave any comments on ways to make this deck stronger while keeping with the theme.
