Strategy
In your opening hand look keys of orthanc and a doomed card to fuel gimli, elven light or gleowine for legolas, and its nice to have a desperate alliance. You can draw into this though so dont worry if you dont get any of these cards (but try and get some of them). Then it mostly plays like a normal three hunters deck, with gimli and legolas buffing each other.
Doomed?
The idea of this deck is to play a bunch of doomed beneficial cards and then use desperate alliance to pass aragorn around the table so everyone can use his ability. This combo does work based on the wordings of the cards and the timings of abilities. Also you can choose aragorns ability before or after you raise your threat, so dont worry if you hit 49.
OVERVIEW
This deck is designed for a multiplayer environment but with card swaps it maybe could be a solo deck, but that wasnt the intent. It has a lot of great support cards and it just is nice to know i can go play with friends and bring doomed without making everyone mad (unless they are playing secrecy).
PALANTIR???
Some of you might not remember this card and its ability, and it might feel out of place, but it adds to the flavor, and if you know the quest it becomes a beast knowing you have a backup threat reduction with aragorn if you get some bad guesses with it. I would try it, it makes for an interesting game and it is nice drawing extra cards if need be. Plus with unexpected courage on aragorn, it just gets better.
Final thoughts:
This deck is very flavorful with its heroes and some cards within cough palantir cough but it is also functional and can bring an interesting game to your group. So just try it out and enjoy!
Someday I am definitely going to go all in on the Palantir. Looks like Gimli is your target here (needs Noble), but slap UE on him all the same!
