The Hunt for Gollum - Progression Series #4

Description

A pair of decks intended to be played against The Hunt for Gollum, for use in the Lord of the Rings: the Card Game Progression Series. Steward of Gondor is probably best played on Eowyn, whereas Beravor is the optimal recipient for Horn of Gondor (though I wouldn't expect many allies to be destroyed). Use the impressive card draw available between either deck to dig for power cards such as Northern Tracker, and counter the potentially huge threat values of Hunters from Mordor and/or The Old Ford with Radagast's Cunning / Secret Paths. Use Theodred to funnel resources to where they're most useful (e.g., to fund Forest Snare). Good luck!

If you, dear reader, want to build these decks from a single card pool, meaning specifically that you own "only" three cores and one Hunt for Gollum adventure pack, may I suggest the following changes:

  1. In one of the decks, include one less copy of Rivendell Minstrel and in exchange for it one more copy of Song of Kings. Alternatively, if you care more about her willpower than the song fetching ability (and are willing to "cheat"), you could exchange her for Sarn Ford Sentry.
  2. In one of the decks, exchange all three copies of Henamarth Riversong for Erebor Hammersmith. I'm pretty sure Mitch included them more for chump blocking than for their scrying ability. Hammersmith is a bit more expensive, but he has wonderful stats and even stands a chance to survive an attack by a weaker enemy.
